Be smart
Teams will need to be strategic in their fundraising because it is not a cumulative
contest.
Money raised does not carry over from the regular season to the knock out
phase and money raised in each round of the knock out phase does not carry over to
the next round.
Sure, you need to finish in the top 64 teams at the end of 27 Mar 2010, but then you
are paired with another team in the first round of the knock out phase and you both
start from $0. The team in each pairing raising the most over the next round, progresses.
If you are in the last 32, your total goes back to $0 again. You get the idea.
You need to be smart. If you finish top of the pile at the end of qualifying, but are
'beaten' in the first knock out round, you are out.
There is no limit to the number of people you can co-opt into your team at any time.
Particularly during the knockout rounds, that may be important...
