Registered Charity Status
Madness Against Malaria is an initiative of the Against Foundation,
a charity registered in the UK, US, Australia and a number of other countries.
The Foundation was set up in August 2004 with the explicit aim of handling the money
raised through World Swim Against Malaria.
As stated in the Articles of Association of the Foundation, the official document
describing our purpose, our aims are:
“…the relief of suffering from malaria by the provision of funds for the prevention
and/or treatment of malaria and the advancement of education in the subjects of
a) the problems and suffering caused by malaria and b) what can be done to alleviate
them.”
More specifically, 100% of the money we raise buys long-lasting insecticidal mosquito
nets (LLINs). Via distribution partnerships, these nets end up over heads and beds
and we demonstrate that has happened (see Our approach).

Note: The Against Malaria Foundation is the new name for the World Swim For Malaria Foundation. The change of name is currently being made across all countries and whilst this takes place some details may still refer to the old charity name.

The Against Malaria Foundation (Australia) Ltd is a charity established in
Australia. Our Australian Company Number (ACN) is 120 213 701. The Australian Business
Number (ABN) is 72 120 213 701. The foundation has been endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office to access charity tax concessions.

The Against Malaria Foundation is a charity registered in the UK and governed
by the laws of England & Wales. Our registered charity number is 1105319.

The Against Malaria Foundation is registered as exempt from federal income
tax and exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code - federal identification
number 20-3069841. In addition, where appropriate and in order to comply with local
legislative fund-raising requirements, the Foundation is also registered at state
level.

The Against Malaria Foundation (Ireland) Limited is a registered company
in Ireland - company number 424597.

Italy
"Fondazione World Swim For Malaria O.N.L.U.S." is registered in the ONLUS Registry.
The foundation is therefore entitled to profit from the tax advantages provided
by Italian law.

Netherlands
Against Malaria is a registered Foundation (Stichting) in The Netherlands,
number 34236793. The Dutch tax authority has declared that it will treat the Stichting
as a charity institution.

New Zealand
The Against Malaria Foundation (New Zealand) is a tax exempt organisation under section CW 34 of the Income Tax Act 2004. IRD number 94-357-039. The Foundation is now included in section KC 5(1) of the Income Tax Act 2004 which lists the organisations that qualify for charitable donee status. The Foundation is registered with the Charities Commission - number CC 10808.

with tax exempt status confirmed by the South African Revenue Service, reference
