How it works

1. Set up a fundraising page.
2. Be a team – one person, two, 10, 50…it's up to you.
3. Send your webpage link to your friends and ask to be sponsored and so raise money. You never have to collect any money as it all happens online.

You have until 14 Mar 08 to raise sponsorship on your team’s page and finish in the Top 64 teams. If you do, you go through to the first round of the ‘knock out’ phase. Teams are paired up and the team that raises the most money of each pair during that round goes through to the next round. And so on each round, until only 2 teams are left in the final.

Preliminary dates:

Qualifying ends:	8pm (EST) 14 Mar 2009
Round 1 ends:	8pm (EST) 28 Mar 2009
Round 2 ends:	8pm (EST) 11 Apr 2009
Round 3 ends:	8pm (EST) 25 Apr 2009
Round 4 ends:	8pm (EST) 9 May 2009
Semi-Final ends:	8pm (EST) 23 May 2009
Mad Bowl II Final ends:	8pm (EST) 20 Jun 2009

Have fun!

There might be some interesting pairings during the 'March Madness' phase. A six person team from a large corporate might play against a school of 700 children in Saudi Arabia; a basketball team in Milwaukee against a Rotary club in Australia; a few people in the office of a multinational in Nairobi might be paired against a group of malaria researchers in Switzerland. Teams can be any number of people, from anywhere.
